Prof. Ugo Mattei was invited by the Private Law Research Centre under the President of the Russian Federation named after S.S. Alexeev (PLRC) to participate in the XIII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum, held from May 14โ€“16, 2025.

The Forum, one of the largest legal conferences globally, brought together judges, legal scholars, practitioners, and policymakers from over 100 countries. This year's theme focused on "Law in a Multipolar World: New Challenges and Opportunities."

Prof. Mattei delivered a keynote address on "The Commons and Legal Pluralism in International Economic Law," drawing on his extensive research in comparative law and the commons. His presentation examined:

Prof. Mattei's involvement also strengthens the IUC's partnership with Russian legal academia and opens new avenues for collaborative research.
