On June 28, 2025, a landmark Forum was launched to discuss political economy and legal issues of interest within the BRICS+ area. This collaborative initiative brings together three key institutions:
- Lanzhou University (LZU) — A leading Chinese research university with expertise in Central Asian and BRICS studies
- International University College of Turin (IUC) — Our institution, bringing critical legal and economic perspectives
- Private Law Research Centre (PLRC) — Under the President of the Russian Federation, named after S.S. Alexeev
The Forum addresses the growing need for specialized legal frameworks as BRICS+ nations expand their economic and political cooperation. Key topics include:
- Cross-border investment law and protection mechanisms
- Alternative dispute resolution within BRICS+ jurisdictions
- Harmonization of commercial law standards
- Sustainable development and environmental law in emerging economies
- Digital economy regulation and data governance
This trilateral partnership reflects the IUC's commitment to fostering international academic collaboration and addressing the legal challenges of a multipolar world. The Forum will convene annually, rotating between the partner institutions, with the inaugural meeting hosted at Lanzhou University.
